2023 4-H YOUTH SUMMIT

The summit is open to intermediate 4-H members (ages 11-13). Senior 4-H members (ages 14+) can apply to become a facilitator to help our planning team with our break out sessions.
The 4-H Youth Summit will be held in a hybrid model incorporating both virtual and in-person activities for the summit participants. Our leadership lab, a multiple hour hands-on leadership learning experience, will be held in-person at multiple locations across the state. The rest of the activities will be held virtually on zoom including guest speakers, education sessions, and recreation opportunities.

BE A CHAPERONE
We are looking for passionate adult volunteers ages 21 and older to serve as chaperones for our virtual and in-person activities. The role and performance of a chaperone can significantly influence the positive outcomes of youth participation at the Youth Summits. Learn additional details in the chaperone application form.

Two-hour time slots available:
- 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
- 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Time blocks are first-come, first-served. Please see the Safety Measures for participating in-person at UC Davis.
Procedures
After registering, youth presenters will receive a confirmation email.
On the day of the event, youth will need to check-in in front of Wellman Hall to get their room assignments.
- Morning presentations: Check in 8:30 am to 9:30 am
- Afternoon presentations: Check in 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
During their scheduled time block, youth will go to the room they are assigned to and present when it is their turn.
Evaluators will enter their scores and comments digitally or using paper forms, which will be sent to the “tally room.”
Results will be announced at the Award Ceremony: May 28, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and evaluation will be emailed out shortly after or sent out with certificates.

Plan to join the fun at the annual California 4-H State Leadership Conference and meet youth from across California for leadership training, and networking!

2021 State 4-H Fashion Revue
'Reboot'
Pre-qualification & Pre-registration are required by May 13, 2021
Volunteer evaluators provide feedback to 4-H members on their clothing and accessory choices using criterion-based rubrics. Categories are Traditional, Consumer Science Purchased, Box Challenge, Vintage Challenge, and Cosplay Challenge. Organized by a committee of youth and adult volunteers who work throughout the year on all aspects of the event.
